PineKone Named ESEA-Main Season 5 CS 1.6 MVP

Earlier in the season, before playoffs, ESEA went and chose the MVP's of the season based upon their impact on the their team's matches and how their team has performed with that certain player. Area51 Gaming is proud to announce that our very own Josh "PineKone" Springer has been named the MVP for the Counter-Strike 1.6 Main division in season 5 of ESEA. Read below for the full interview conducted by ESEA's Bobby "weenus" Hicks

weenus!:
Give us a brief introduction about who you are.

PineKone: My name is Josh Springer, i'm 26 and i'm married. I play just about every sport I can get my hands on and i'm a huge Ohio State fan. I also work full time in sales.

weenus!: You've been in the game for ages, but for those that don't know you, give us a run down on your CS career.

PineKone: Basically when I started cs I played a ton. Through that I went from a pubber to a decent player over 1 summer. The teams I played on went from open up to main pretty easily. I lanned a few times during that span and got noticed by Confederacy and I joined their premier team and basically turned it around.

After a CPL where I played really well but as a team we didn't, I ended up joining GB. I played for them for a while and then played with more local friends in [GR] for a while before ending back in GB which is where I still currently reside. I've been to a million lans it seemed, and have done extremely well at nearly all of them...however I haven't lanned in like a year now :D

Leading and placing 3rd in 2 consecutive CPL's in DAR was probably a highlight for me as an individual, and playing on .50 cal and making a decent run with GRT was fun back in the day too.

weenus!: What does it mean to you to be the Main Season 5 MVP?
PineKone: Well it's always nice to know you can still compete even without putting as much time in as most teams/individuals. It also tells me that experience is just as important as aim. Most people give my team a hard time about playing cs because we're in our mid 20's but we enjoy it and play it as a hobby, and to still be able to come out on top still means something :)

weenus!: You have been in the ESEA League since the beginning and played over a span of the divisions. What do you think of the ESEA League so far?
PineKone: ESEA has always been the best at delivering an experience that is wide ranging. Having stats, and HLTV's, and pretty strict scheduling was always a positive for the most part. Most of my experiences have been good, but just like other leagues, I see glimpses of exceptions to rules at random times that gets frustrating...but all in all a good experience.

weenus!: You've had the same core of players on the team for sometime now. At this point, can you imagine not playing CS with Jame^s and Luckyted?
PineKone: You get to a point where we're at and most of us are content with enjoying the game together, or just not playing. What's nice about playing with the same people is we're friends in and out of game...so when we're not playing cs I can pop on vent and maybe play some other game with them and enjoy it more then I would by myself, or with random pubbers. Ultimately enjoying time with friends is way more satisfying then team hopping, especially when you can win together.

weenus!: Any shoutouts or anything last words before you go?
PineKone: Really just want to thank my team for putting up with my crazy work, sports, and social life schedule. James does a really good job with scheduling around my life, and being able to play every match while doing all the things I do, is really a testimate to him. Thanks also to Area 51 for being chill and helping us out whenever we ask, it's been great being associated with them.
