51.Quake Competes in Netcode Illuminati
The Quake Live Netcode Illuminati Tournament wrapped up a few days ago, with both boots and Gillz competing. Some notable players also competing in the event are Rapha, Dahang, Chance, DKT, and even Zero4. All players were competing to win over $500 in prize money! The tournament format consisted of a Double Elimination Bracket with
bo3 matches. The maplist was: ztntourney1, qztourney7, qzdm13.
Both players entered with respectable seeds, with both players making it past round one and losing their matches in round two (losing to Rapha and Chance respectively). In the lower bracket, Gillz advanced to 9-12th, but unfortunately was taken out by Baxley in a series of very close game. Baxley being a very good player who was given a very low seed.
Boots was able to make it into the top 8, defeating cfebns to get there. He faced Rey who sent out amazing 51 member out of the tournament, but with money in hand! We wish them the best of luck at Quakecon!
