National ESL QuakeLive League Season 1 Underway

The National ESL is backing the Quake Live community with their very own fully structured ESL League. The National ESL QuakeLive league will feature 4 divisions of varying skill level and player interest. The league also plans to have QuakeLive TV cover a large portion of the matches. The league will feature a 9-week season with a playoff at the end to determine the winners. Each division consists of competitors of varying skill levels.

The Premier division is the highest tier, featuring players such as ZeRo4, czm and DaHanG. The division itself will feature 12 players competing in a single group with 11 matches While Brian "dkt" Flander had previously reported he was retiring he has decided to put his retirement on hold and participate in the division. Another big surprise is that Shane "rapha" Hendrixson while receiving an invite into the division will not be participating due to his practice schedule in Germany.

The Select division is the second highest tier, featuring players such as dCoy, id and Area51 Gaming's own Bryan "Gillz" Gilbert. The division consists of 20 players broken down into two groups of 10 competing in a total of 9 matches.

The Main division is the last remaining qualification division and features players such as blatrix, slasher and the QuakeCon 2010 1v1 Open 2nd place finisher Area51 Gaming dueler Dalton "boots" DeMaria. The division is broken down exactly the same as the Select division with 20 players separated into two groups of 10 completing in a total of 9 matches.

The Open division is open to all ESL registered players and will have an unlimited amount of players that will be broken down into groups of 10 and will play 9+ matches depending on the number of individuals that register.
