MYM Gets a Grip on Counter-Strike 1.6

It looks as if Meet Your Makers (MYM) has returned to the Counter-Strike 1.6  as they have announced their new team today. The announcement comes at a slight delay considering MYM announced their return as a gaming organization on August 18th, 2009. Their new line up looks to be very promising as they have signed some great talent. Please read below for the full press release.

We are sorry to make you wait longer than promised, but we are finally able to present you the new MYM Counter-Strike 1.6 team, which is none other than the ex-Begrip which will be sporting the tag of MYM.

If one team has shown promising potential within the last few months, it would have to be ex-Begrip. The team completed their roster prior to WCG Sweden, seeing Jim 'zneel' Andersson leaving for SK Gaming and Fredrik 'JAEGARN' Andersson being unable to attend the event. As a result, Marcus 'Delpan' Larsson and Jimmy 'Jumpy' Berndtsson were brought in to fill the spots.

Unfortunately, the new roster lost to fnatic after two nail-biting losses in the semi finals at WCG Sweden, failing to qualify for the World Cyber Games 2009 Grand Finals. Nevertheless, a new start came with Inferno Online Final 4, a tournament with four former Inferno Online League champions competing with each other for cash and hardware prizes.

The team advanced to the grand final after beating SK Gaming, battling against H2k Gaming, which is comprised of the likes of Johan 'face' Karlsson and Frej 'kHRYSTAL'Sjouml. Ex-Begrip, again, showed their dominating fashion with excellent aims and outstanding performances in the finals, crowning themselves champions of their homeland. More recently, the team defeated wooSai.se in the finals of the Intel Extreme Masters IV Swedish Qualifier, directly advancing to round two of the main season.

However, the once hardcore player Fredrik 'hibb'Isacsson, who joined the ex-Begrip on a permanent basis in September, had to leave the team due to work commitments. Instead of hibb, they welcomed the one and only Marcus 'zet' Sundstrom.

Sundstrom made himself known to the world in the old Ninjas in Pyjamas days and was an essential part for the team, winning the silver medals at WCG 2006. He was chosen by compLexity in early 2007 due to his awesome individual skill, helping the team to win the CGS Counter-Strike: Source Individual World Final and earn a prize of $25,000.

In the summer of 2008, Sundstrom went back to Sweden, joining SK Gaming to play with his former teammates Dennis 'walle' Wallenberg and Robert 'RobbaN'Dahlstrom after a semi-active period. He immediately proved himself in the Counter-Strike 1.6 scene again, when  SK Gaming with Sundstrom crowned themselves champions at EM III Global Challenge Los Angeles and finished as the runners-up at the World Cyber Games 2008 Grand Finals in Germany.

The first half of 2009 was not as satisfying for SK Gaming, as they finished back-to-back runners-up at ESWC Asia Masters of Cheonan and KODE5 Global Finals. The team has under performed since then, failing to qualifying for the WCG 2009 Grand Finals and being knocked out at IOL Final 4 Semi-Final combined with Sundstrom missing his flight to Intel Extreme Masters Super Cup leading to him being released from the Swedish powerhouse prior to Inter Extreme Masters Global Challenge Chengdu.

However, we do think that Sundstrom still has the potential, motivation and power to prove himself, and the new MYM team as a whole, that is of course the reason we have recruited him. With the new lineup, MYM will be competing at every possible tournament and league to bring you the best performances and results.
