MW2 1st Round Tournament

MW2 TOURNAMENTS FIRST ROUND.

Area 51 vs Glimpse of Reality

As favorites of the tournament, and one of the top teams in the game, our team took on it's first opponent in this month's tournament. We sought out to make an example of a very dedicated and skilled glimpse team. After relaxing a little bit, with our heads in the clouds our normal practicing and strategizing time diminished a little but we found ourselves, ready and willing to take the first round. After scrimming heavily the last few days in preparation, of our match it was time to show the community why were Area 51 and why were a forced to be reckoned with.

FAVELA
The first map was favela, which is one of our stronger maps and we went in with confidence and a roster that had previously won the TWL SEASON 1 CHAMPIONSHIP - NazgL,Rusty,Moderno,Wrecktangle, and Anarchy.
After a slow start on favela we found ourselves quickly in an uphill battle to take the map and move on to the next round, after a small rally late in the map to make the score 11-8 in favor of glimpse, they ran away with it taking the next two. However, the morale was still good and we knew we were alot better then how we actually played.
HIGHRISE
The next map was highrise another map we find ourselves to be very solid on and with an unlikely performance by anarchy on the first map he elected to sit himself for the second map, with our confidence in him as a player and our team we kept the same roster going into the second map. After falling behind early we quickly rallied and led most of the map. With a huge improvement by anarchy in the second map and rusty top fragging with 21 kills we pulled out a highrise win 13-11.

OVERTIME
Where legends are born and champions are made.

The map was sub-base a map, that we rarely scrim and didn't think we'd find ourselves playing... a little nervous about going into this map with very little strategy and relying on our chemistry and our wits to pull this one out. Early in the map we were confused and rattled to say the least, with glimpse jumping out to a 4-0 lead we never lost faith but, the mood in vent had changed and we had to pull everything we could together to win this map. Nothing we were doing was working, and after being down 7-1 we quickly looked as if we were going to be fighting out of the losers bracket. However, like a lit match the fire our team has shown all along quickly spread like wild fire and I watched as our team erupted into a blaze of glory. After taking 6 of 7 we were down 8-7 and the tides had turned. They were playing more aggressive and making stupid mistakes as we were capitalizing on every opportunity given. In the closing rounds of the match with the score 11-10 and with us having a 3v1 advantage and the bomb down... We were about to tie the match, and take the lead. However, things weren't going right for us that night and these were one of those moments with a quick pick on naz by warr and a peek by anarchy it was now down to 1v1 warr vs rusty with the bomb down and time ticking away.  Only seconds remained to get the bomb defused, the noise of a fake drew rusty out of hiding and he was quickly taken out by warr and the bomb defused. Making it 12-10 and there match point. None the less I would define this mw2 team by the word RESILIENT because that's what they were. The next two rounds led by moderno 51 took them by storm, leaving one round remaining. With an early pick by wrecktangle and a set nade kill by nazgL finally the relaxed, confident 51 team showed up with one death shy of a team ace and a last round victory. We survived the first round of the tournament, and with a new outlook on our team and they way were going to prepare this is only the beginning of greater things to come.

Once again, Great Games to my team you all played great, and glimpse very well done.
