Lbs takes a break, Peachie's back!

Eric "lbs" Pounds has been with Area 51 for close to a year but yesterday he announced he needs some time off to focus on school and to deal with personal family matters.  Pounds stepped in to replace Peachie when the team had problems finding a solid 5th to accompany Peachie.  Peachie stayed on for a year going through multiple 5th's (m4gic,bane,phrozen,grizzly, mehler) only for us to come to the conclusion that we were just spinning our wheels. So when Peachie moved away to college for his first semester we both agreed it would be better swap out him for lbs and sh0ts and let him move on to an invite team. That move solidified our roster for  10 months. With Lbs giving notice that he needs to step down and be a backup, the first thing I did was to call up Peachie and ask him to return. He was excited to be asked back as he hasn't played much in his time away because of having to play on a laptop with laggy dorm internet. When I stressed my concern he explained that those days where behind him because he would be playing from home this summer and when he goes back to school next semester he will have his own apartment.  The main difference this time around is:

·        Peachie has more experience from his past season of ESEA Invite play

·        He will have a motivated teammate and friend in sh0ts to compete with

·        We have ESEA MAIN LAN FINALS to focus on which gives us an exciting goal to prepare for

·        He is excited to play the game coming off months of hindered performance due to dorm lag

When Lbs first dropped the news of him taking a break it was very sad but since he agreed to stick around and serve as a backup for an occasional scrim and match sub it seems our team has made an improvement. Replacing an unmotivated individual with someone who wants to play and was an old teammate.

Here is a few quotes from those who have reflected on the news:
Eric "lbs" Pounds: "I am not enjoying the game right now and because I have just started going back to school I really can't force myself to play when I have other priorities  to focus on. I'm still way better than everyone and you'll see that if these noobs need me to ring in a match. Maybe some time away from the game will help me enjoy it again. Oh...and thank you Area 51 staff for paying for my stuff."

Dara "PhrozeN" Nhep: Lbs is a very good player. Too bad he had to step down and take a break because his awp was amazing. Peachie will fit in perfectly since lbs and him have pretty much the same roles and it also helps that Cj has played with your team in the past.

CJ "Peachie37" Spilewski: It's nice to be back, I feel like I'm finally settled. Since I parted ways with 51 I didn't really do anything. I felt like the players I played with weren't as smart as ted, josh or James. I could have fixed my internet or brought my real computer to college but I just didn't see a point because I didn't really enjoy playing with anyone else but these guys. The first time around I felt we had exhausted all our options for a 5th to complete the team. Now that they got sh0ts back I'm really excited to play. I can't wait to go to the lan finals and meet everyone, it's going to be a great time.

He will showcase his skills Wednesday night on De_Dust 2 vs. one of the best main teams,Blight Gaming Canada, for round one of ESEA Main.  PM him on IRC and welcome him back :]
