Intel Extreme Masters Dubai Challenge
Recently the third Global Challenge of Intel Extreme Masters Season 4
started in Dubai, United Arab Emirate. The event is set to run from
October 17th through October 24th and feature Counter-Strike 1.6 and
Quake Live with a total prize pot of $31,500.
The first few days of the event featured some intense Quake Live action featuring players such as Stermy, rapha, cypher, fox, and DaHanG. Also one of the best Quake players of all time, Anton "Cooller" Singov attended the event. In the end the QuakeCon 2009 champion rapha took first with cypher and noctis rounding out the top three. The QuakeLive Final Standings can be found below.
Quake Live Final Standings
1st: rapha - $3,000 + Global Finals Slot 5th: madix - $200
2nd: cypher - $1,500 6th: Cooller - $200
3rd: noctis - $800 7th: DaHanG - $200
4th: fox - $400 8th: stermy - $200
The Counter-Strike 1.6 action is set to start at roughly 2:30am(CST) on Tuesday, October 20th with groups A and B and the remaining matches will be played on Wednesday, October 21st. The top two from each group will advance to duke it out in the semi-finals. The groups are listed below.
