Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu Challenge
Tomorrow (October 1st) marks the start of the next Intel Extreme
Masters Global Challenge in Chengdu, China. The event will run from
October 1st-3rd and feature $65,000 in prize money spread across three
games (Counter-Strike 1.6, WarCraft 3 and DotA).
The Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament will feature 12 of the worlds best teams battling it out for a total of $40,000 in prize money, with the winner directly qualifying for the World Championship which is supposed to be held at CeBIT in Germany. The 12 teams have been split into four groups consisting of three teams each, where the top two teams from each group will progress to the Playoffs, which will see a Single-Elimination format played.
For those individuals that are unable to attend the event ESL will be broadcasting ESL TV every day throughout the entire event starting at 10AM (CST). The show will go on throughout the whole day in China (night in Europe), hosted by ESL's very own British trio James, Joe and Matt.
