Area51.cs Takes 3rd Place in ESEA-Main Season 5
After an amazing run through ESEA-Main this season the Area51.cs team finished 15-1 in the regular season securing themselves the #1 seed going into the playoffs and a chance at the $2,000 first place prize money. The Area51.cs team had a seemingly easy run through the upper bracket defeating teams such as Capital 6, down with the ship, and nocturnal7. Their first real test came in Round 4 of the upper bracket where they would face off against Packet Loss Pros (formally Sway Gaming) on de_nuke for a chance in the Grand Finals to face the winner of the lower bracket. Going into this match the community thought this match could really go either way as many predicted the scores to be really close (according to ESEA predictions) but however the match went decisively in Packet Loss Pros favor with a 16-7 win over the Area51.cs crew.
After waiting in the lower bracket for 14 days the Area51.cs team finally had their next opponent in Vicious-Gaming with the winner taking on Packet Loss Pros in the Grand Finals. The match was extremely close as Vicious-Gaming just edged out Area51 16-14 on the infamous de_dust2. The loss to Vicious-Gaming ended the season for the Area51 Counter-Strike 1.6 team as they have taken 3rd place.
Final Standings
1st: Packet Loss Pros - $2,000
2nd: Vicious-Gaming - $1,350
3rd: Area51 Gaming - $1,000
