2011 Season Preview
So it begins, this year starts a new with a few faces and returns with some familiar ones. Area51Gaming looks forward to the coming seasons in ESEA, CEVO, and other competitive leagues throughout the gaming communities. This year we've "trimmed the fat" and begin focusing on Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Quake Live.
We continue this year with support from SteelSeries, Ammo Energy Shots, and HurricaneHost. Support from them continues to be the reason we are around and capable of competing at the highest levels with some of the best teams in the status quo. We look forward to representing them with the professionalism, respect, and quality they deserve and demand.
Black Ops enters the scene with many un-optimistic gamers, but with a few hoping that it'll catch in the WCG series of gaming. The last I checked it was ranked highly in hopefully gaming some support on a world scale offering some huge prize pots and LANs if supported. Having played the game personally I believe whole heartily that it has the potential to be competitive on a WCG level of gaming, once the mod tools get released. The only hitch, every set of gamers have a set of rules or way they want to see a mod coded to allow certain perks etc.
Counter-Strike 1.6 hasn't changed much in the fact that it'll continue to be the main focus of gaming industry professionals from ESEA, to WCG, and CEVO. This game won't ever lose and support and we're happy to meet the demands of this highly professional and sought after gaming in this years events.
Quake Live... This gaming has an interesting profile. I love to watch the game played because I come from 1vs1 style sets back when UT99 was played professionally by players like Gitz. Quake Live has added another dynamic with their expansions packs, map packs, and premium content. This game hosts a large following online that play for what seems like days on end. Although, competitively the game dies right up until QuakeCon where tournaments, LANs, and online play explodes in anticipation of the multi-thousand man LAN.
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to 2011 we're glad to be here, good luck have fun to all!
