Area51.cs Off To A Strong Start In Season 8
Season 8 of ESEA is now underway and with four matches in the bag the
Area51.cs team is looking quite strong. This early into the season the
team has put up a 3-1 record so far with only one forfeit win and a very close loss to Evil Geniuses.
For week one Area51.cs faced off against Death Clutch Gaming (formally Damn We Are Good) on de_train. Death Clutch Gaming came into their second match of the season looking to improve on a 7-16 loss they suffered to Evil Geniuses while Area51.cs looked to start off the season strong. The match would start with Area51.cs on the terrorist and they were able to successfully grab 6 rounds on the arguably harder side of de_train. Going into the second half Area51.cs was able to secure 9 rounds and put the match at a 15-15 score heading into overtime. Area51.cs got to start the first overtime on the counter-terrorist side and swept Death Clutch Gaming 3-0. Going into the second overtime Area51.cs only needed one round to end the match however Death Clutch Gaming would grab two rounds before Area51.cs would finally seal the deal with a 19-17 win in their season opener.
Week two would be quite easy for Area51.cs as they received a forfeit win from Damn We Are Dead (formally Texas Area Untouchables). The forfeit loss was due to "unfortunate circumstances" according to Damn We Are Dead's ESEA team page.
Going into week three Area51.cs would be sitting at a 2-0 record looking to face a highly experienced Damage Inc roster sitting with a 1-1 record. The match would be on the new de_hell as it was added to the season to shake things up a bit. The match would start off with Area51.cs on the terrorist side (which looks to be the harder side in the matches that I have watched) securing a solid 6 rounds. Damage Inc. would go on to get shut out the second half not winning a single round and putting the match at a final score of 16-9 for Area51.cs.
Area51.cs would go on to face Evil Geniuses for their fourth match of the season on de_hell. Going into this match many people didn't know what to expect with n0thing being recently banned from ESEA. The match would again be played on the new de_hell with Area51.cs getting to start on the counter-terrorist side securing a 9-6 score. Going into the second half things just didn't seem to be going in Area51.cs favor as they were only able to grab a total of 4 rounds and ended up suffering a tough 13-16 loss.
