Area51.cs Squeaks Through to Day 2

Grt and his team are off to a good start in the Arbalet Cup that started today in Dallas, Texas. The team is competing for a piece of an $80,000 purse after placing 5th place in the ESEA S6 LAN Finals. Yesterday after a rough set of games, and losing steam in later games they are rested up after reviewing some demos to compete today.

The day started of somewhat slow for the Area51.cs team as their first round opponent PC Werks decided not to attend the event which left the team having to wait an hour before they had to play their next match. Going into their first match of the day Area51.cs had to face off against the Swedish powerhouse H2k-Gaming. The match took place on de_nuke where Area51 would have to play terrorist side the 1st half where they were only able to pick up a single round finishing the 1st half with a 1-14 score. The 2nd half would go a little better as Area51 was able to secure three more rounds finishing the match with a 4-26 loss.

The teams final match of the day versus Animus.cs would be the deciding factor if they moved on to the second group stage tomorrow with H2k-Gaming.  The match was set to be played on de_tuscan with Area51 starting off on the terrorst side. The first half was a really back in forth battle with Area51 coming out on top 8-7. The second half was basically the same way with Area51 able to edge out Animus.cs 9-6 putting the final score at a 17-13 victory for Area51.

The Area51.cs crew will advance to tomorrows group play with their opponents being randomly selected tonight. As more information and matches become available we'll fill you in, Skitch is going to do some in depth HLTV watching and give you the round by round as the demos become available.
