This past weekend teams/players that qualified for the WCG USA National Final 2009 squared of at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York. The best USA video game players battled it out in 10 different top title games for a total prize pot of $100,000. 20 WCG gamers earned spots on the Team USA roster for the trip to China for the WCG Grand Finals.

MYM Gets a Grip on Counter-Strike 1.6
It looks as if Meet Your Makers (MYM) has returned to the Counter-Strike 1.6 as they have announced their new team today. The announcement comes at a slight delay considering MYM announced their return as a gaming organization on August 18th, 2009. Intel Extreme Masters American Championship
On Thursday, September 17th Intel Extreme Masters officially announced the complete prize money distribution of the American Championship. The event looks to be taking place tentatively in November sometime (hopefully not the same time as the ESEA Season 4 Finals). A total of $72,800 divided between 3 different games is up for grabs.

From the looks of things their will be 4 qualification cups available to sign up for and the top two of of the four qualification cups will be joined by eight invited players to fight for a slot in the finals.
