ESL Wire Anti-Cheat Released Posted by Skitch on 10/11/2010
After almost five years ESL has replaced there ESL Aequitas anti-cheat system with a new one called ESL Wire. The new anti-cheat system took nine months to develop in open and closed beta tests with thousands of gamers. The new anti-cheat will be required to compete in the following games, Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike Condition Zero, Counter-Strike:Source, Call of Duty 4, Day of Defeat:Source, and Team Fortress 2.

The new ESL Wire anti-cheat is said to have cost around $500,000 to develop. ESL Wire Anti-Cheat is the newest generation of Anti-Cheat-technology. ESL Wire Anti-Cheat's drivers can easily find more than 1.000 Ring0- and Ring3-Cheats. However, this is not the end of the story since the new tool is even capable of finding and highlighting suspicious software in addition to the specific detection routines.

For all you people out there wondering about performance issues while running the client it is said that information gathered during the open/closed beta tests shows that 90% of the people were happy with the amount of resources used.
