Season 6 Outcome: Unlike the Main and Invite divisions,
I didn't personally pay as much attention to the Intermediate division.
However, even though my focus was elsewhere, I still became quite
familiar with Area 51.
How could you not? The team was an absolute powerhouse in the IM division. Area 51 slaughtered their conference in regular season play to finish off with a 15-1 record. The playoffs were no different. The Upper Bracket Finals pitted Area 51 against Hostile Faction. Any viewer would have thought it was a first round match, as Area 51 demolished their opponents by a 16-1 final score. Area 51 eventually was paired against the Fighting Irish in the Grand Finals, where Area 51 sailed through to a 16-11 victory.

Season 7 Prediction: I'm not thrilled Area 51 has lost Daemos for the season. Daemos went inactive for personal reasons which had nothing to do with his performance. He decided to go off and get married! This left his team without one of their most explosive players. NoMOTiV is a decent replacement but it will be difficult to match the impact Daemos had on this team. Four of last season's Intermediate champions will return, which is certainly good news for Area 51. Make no mistake. Even though I've given Area 51 a B-, I still think they have potential to finish their first season in Invite with a .500 record. I just think the team will need to rely more heavily on teamwork, when in the past, their team seemed more reliant on individual performances. I feel guilty putting so much value in Daemos, but he was an exceptionally good player for Area 51. I'm pretty confident however Area 51 will be able to bounce back after they settle into Invite. From what I've heard, they are extremely dedicated so that of course will be beneficial.
