Battle for PAX! Posted by Ares on 03/03/2010
Penny Arcade: Expo
PAX | Battle for PAX | MyInternetServices.com

Great news to fans of both Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and the Penny-Arcade Expo! Sign-ups are now open for the all new "Battle for PAX" competition presented by EA, DICE, and NVIDIA and powered by MyInternetServices.com.

Gamers will begin the competition by forming a group of four players. Each battle will be a four vs. four squad deathmatch to determine the victor. The top four teams of the event will be invited to the Penny-Arcade Expo East, being held in Boston, and will have a chance to continue their domination in the BYOC competition at the event!

We know that you're interested to first hear about the breakdown of the cash and prizes. Don't worry, every team will have an equal shot at the more than $17,500 in cash and prizes that will go to the top teams at the PAX East BYOC Battlefield: Bad Company 2 tournament.

DICE, Electronic Arts, Nvidia, and MyInternetServices.com are proud to present the Battle for PAX! This unique single elimination online qualifying tournament presents gamers with the exciting opportunity to compete in the first official tournament for the highly anticipated PC release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Hundreds of teams will be battling for the final four positions, and those lucky four who make it will receive up to $2,500 per team in travel reimbursement and free 3-day passes to PAX in order to compete live in Boston Massachusetts. Once there, the four talented teams will carry over their one through four seeding as established in this online qualifier, as they go on to battle for $17,500 in cash prizing at the PAX East BYOC Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Tournament.

As if that weren't enough, the live tournament at PAX East will also be the first ever all 3D tournament, using high tech Nvidia hardware to enhance the competitor's gaming experience. The first place team at the PAX East BYOC Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Tournament will receive $10,000, with second place earning $5,000, and third place coming in with $2,500. Finally, we'll also be distributing random prizing and sponsor swag at the conclusion of the online event, so even if you're not on the most talented team, you still have a chance to win. Good luck to all competitors, and may the best teams win!

Furthermore, the random breakdown of prizes for the competition will include ten GTX 285 video cards from NVIDIA, five AX 180 gaming headsets from Triton, five $20 gift certificates to the Xfire Game Store, and twenty official Bad Company 2 t-shirts!

You and three of your buddies simply need to form up a team of four for the Squad Deathmatch mode that will be the focus of this tournament.

More details and information will soon be made available at the official Battle for PAX page. Sign-ups are now underway for the event!

Well, your wife is in luck. You REALLY suck at gaming, so no worries about making it to the final 4.
