MLG Anaheim Right Around the Corner Posted by Skitch on 11/05/2009
 MLG Anaheim Coverage

With the fourth stop of the 2009 Major League Gaming Pro Circuit only fourteen days away I thought it would be a good time to post some news for you MLG fans. The upcoming event is set to take place November 6th-8th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The event will feature three MLG Pro Circut titles (Halo 3, Gears of War 2, and World of Warcraft) along with three EA SPORTS Challenge games (Madden 10, NBA Live 10, and Fight Night Round 4).

The Halo 3 tournament will feature the usual teams such as Triggers Down, Instinct,St8 Rippin, and Final Boss. It will be interesting to see if Triggers Down will be able to use their recent MLG Dallas victory as momentum and win MLG Anaheim or will someone dethrone them. A total of $56,000 is up for grabs in the Halo 3 tournament paying out to the eight finishers.

The Gears of War tournament will feature $15,000 in total prize money spread out among the top four finishers. The MLG Anaheim event will definitely be worth watching as AmazYn is looking for a repeat performance of MLG Dallas.

As for the World of Warcraft event MLG just yesterday announced the competing teams and to no surprise will we get to see eight teams battle it out for a piece of the $15,750 up for grabs. Some of the invited teams include Check-Six (formally eMg) the MLG Dallas champions along with compLexity, Fnatic, and Button Bashers. Interesting enough compLexity has added the 2nd place finisher (BHMS) of the MLG Anaheim event as their second WoW team after the 1st place finishers For The Alliance was unable to attend MLG Anaheim.

Too bad they don't have NCAA Football 2010 :D I'd love to rape some faces at that.
