Electronic Sports League announced its Intel Extreme Masters tournament for Counter-Strike 1.6 boasting $500,000USD in prize money. You only have to play in the online qualifiers are reach a top three spot in those qualifiers to enter the main round. Everyone can participate in the qualification cups and to take part you have to sign your team up during the sign in periods, somewhat like WCG. There are a few restrictions to your team participating:

 

Place of residence in the USA or Canada
At least one form of contact (MSN or IRC e.g.) must be entered.
Accordance of team's country with players' countries
Date of registration
Entered game account (Steam ID)
Each player has to be 16 or older
