| CSS Canada looking good before LAN! | Posted by Daemos on 06/15/2010 |
Hey everyone, I thought i would just update everyone on whats new with our team. First off, tonight we played both our cevo-p matches. One was against zomblerz with newly re-added Eric "brawwr" Neer, one of CSS's greatest awpers, while the other was against our very own American CSS team. After a 3 hour practice, we went into our zomblerz match with a lot of confidence. Coming off a 3 win streak in cevo-p definately helped us there. After a rough start on our CT side, we managed to reover from a 5-2 deficit and finish out the half at a respectable 7-8. Then it was 2nd half. We knew we had to win the pistol and we set out for it and made some key picks, with the ultimate result of a win which netted us the following two anti-eco rounds. It was really a great half, rounds were being traded back and forth and it ended up as an 8-7 for us. Overtime. So we went with what we were comfortable with, and for the first 3 rounds of the overtime, it came down to a 1v1 tight scenario. unfortunately, we lost all 3 and came back to win the next 2. On our ct overtime things fell apart a little and we lost 3 straight. This loss however, didn't discourage us. We knew that since brawwr was added that this would be a much more difficult team, and we have enough respect for ourselves to know that we can beat them, it could have gone either way, and it was a really really great match.
Immediately following our match against zomblerz, it was time to square off against our colleagues, the USA team. We started t side of this match, but we were still very confident and played with aggression. We weren't about to let ourselves lose another match in the same day and we made sure that it was a victory. The first half, we started T side, and managed to pull of a respectable 8-7 half. The same score we took on zomblerz. To ensure that we didn't get the same result on our CT side, we implicated our winning strategies from the zomblerz match right away and it worked rather well and gave us a quick lead of 7-2. We only needed one more round to win, and the US team wasn't going to give it up easily. They showed that they could adapt to our playstyle and took another two rounds before we were able to finally get our winning round.
All in all, I would say it was a great night for our Canadian squad, and we are improving very quickly. This evenings events have only made us more excited for our LAN that is coming up this weekend in Aurora, Ontario. We'll be representing this great organisation and bringing our A-game and we don't think that anyone there is going to stop us. Also, I will be taking a lot of pictures and maybe some low-quality video from my cell phone.
And if that wasn't enough news for this squad, our first lanchamp III match against TLR (the winners of the previous lanchamp) on de_train, de_dust2, and de_inferno is coming up soon! In what is anticipated to be an incredibly competitive matchup, myself, waxxt, brundle-fly, jules, and digital are looking to take home the win in what were calling a $1000 match. A $1000 match, because if/when we beat them, we go on to play our best map de_nuke, in the next round against a much lower seed. Now I don't want to seem overconfident, but I would say the odds are in our favor.
Another thing i wanted to share with our followers, is that our recent hot streak has littered our name all over the cevo-p article on esea news. I just thought everyone should know that our name is getting bigger and bigger within the CSS community and i encourage everyone to read the article.
Until next time, keep an eye out for our constantly improving team. =D
