If someone were to ask me who I thought the best teams/players were, I wouldn't hesitate to say Area51 and it's roster. We've got a powerful team, that in my opinion, could take on any comers in L4D1 or L4D2. The only thing that can stop us in L4D2, especially in the upcoming CEVO tournament, is the broken scoring system, and other flaws within the game that could easily cause us to lose.
For example, just in a game last night we lost by 130pts to a random pug full of lower tier players because of ONE play they made on the very first map of the game. They death charged korn into the water, killing him, which eventually lead to the rest of the team dieing because of a tank. We outplayed them every map after that, getting double or even triple their infected score, but by the end of the game we still lost by 130 because we only gained 25pts over them each time we out played them.
So lets do an example to help you visualize how silly this is. The opposing team gets 600pts for completing the map. We get about 400 for getting as far as we did before dieing. Then, for the next 2 maps before finale we out play them. So thats 2 maps both teams get 600pts, but for each one of those 2 maps we get an additional 25pts. So before finale, the score is looking like this. Their team, 1800pts. Our team, 1650pts. We're still down 150pts going into the finale even though we completely out played them on each map. Then on the finale our team makes it, and their team makes it except one player, but we still fall short 130pts. How rediculous is that? Because of ONE thing we are unable to come back and win. If the same thing would have happened in L4D1, and we died on the first map but outplayed them every other map, we would have EASILY won.
Garbage like that is what we have to be careful of in this upcoming tournament, because that is the only thing that is going to stop Area51 in it's tracks. Because other then those stupid little flaws, no one can overcome us. We're a powerhouse of a team, and it's very aggrivating that even bad teams stand a chance against us because of a broken game. Grrr.
