| One Up and Down/Wild Trip | Posted by Grt on 07/18/2010 |
Well since we havent had a real chance to get on the internet this is sadly the first and last blog of the trip. Internet wasnt working in our room and the fact that we had to go downstairs to write a blog just seemed way to hard, so i have to do it all in short form.
The tournys overall were a dissapointment but alot was learned from the event and im sure we will come out of it better then before and willing to adapt/change to become better.
Esea we got off to a rocky start but still was able to rebound and pull out the win in both matches vs UE. Both were comebacks and showed we had what it takes to come back. Ready and excited for our match vs EG we were ready to take them down. And needless to say we got trampled. Inferno was a disaster although we had tons of close rounds... but we couldnt finish them off... this seemed to be the trend throghout the week. Getting the advantage and then throwing it away. Nuke was better because we got both pistols but we got rolled on an ECO and constantly had to save. EG's nuke needless to say is insane right now and they destroyed everyone on it badly. We had to put this one behind us and play Loaded for the lowers. We had a good mentality into this match and thought the maps worked out in our favor. Train is our worst map but we were ready for it and it showed by us winning 14-1 on CT but we struggled to put it out but eventually did. D2 we thought there would be no problem with taking them out but proved harder then imagined and we didnt get the pistols and was an upwards battle since. THEN tuscan was 3rd map and were really good on it and got to a good start but then just crumbled and couldnt string together a good set of rounds and eventually fell.
For ESEA lan finals the constant theme was how much we had to save. We never had enough money todo anything and when we did, literally the worst thing would happen against us depending on the strat we called. Once again... learning experience.
Moving on we had to play in Arbalet. The group we got we liked and figured we had a great chance to move on and play in the 2nd day. We had to play h2k which is a top swedish team on nuke...and we were excited cause its a good map for us... well we found out this week that no so much... we got absolutely rolled 26-4. But the score didnt do justice. We actually had tons of close rounds and just lost it all... but you learn. Our "easier" match didnt go so well and we BARELY won 16-13 on tuscan... which again... is a good map for us. THese lans have now been showing us that what we thought not really is the case. But none the less we moved on.
From day 1 we got to day 2 and faced EG, idemise and Mousesports which was a deathtrap for us. Without getting into detail we got rolled once again by idemise and EG, which was very embaressing to say the least. Mousesports we knew we had nothing to lose and was on d2 which we liked and needless to say we actually played very well and it could have gone our way more if we didnt screw up ct pistol as badly as we did when we had the advantage.
These events were a good stepping stone and definetely helped us grow as a team and shed some light on what we need to work on and so forth. We definetly had alot of fun but literally everything was going wrong this week from the traveling, the ingame, to the damn coin flips we never won once to get any side we wanted first or map.. it was kinda disgusting how bad our luck was.
All i gotta say is thanks to Area 51 to send us and we appreciate it very much and hopefully next time will go alot better.
Much love
